Frenetic

That is the word that keeps coming up as I think about the past couple of weeks. Had to look it up to ensure it was even the appropriate word to describe my state.

Frantic or Fragmented would have also worked.

There is too much going on, and can’t get it under control. No matter how many books are read, tactics and strategies followed, they are not working this time.

Conflicting priorities.

Things are changing too fast.

Can’t re-budget fast enough.

Insurance. AR.

Presentations to create.

Flights and travel arrangements to plan.

Stress others out with hasty comms.

Big meetings lead to big ideas and follow-up.

New opportunities, no time to decide.

Swinging for the fences…will it work out?

It’s just the tip of the iceberg, and that’s just work life.

Kids are home all summer, family vacation and back-to-school week, surely isn’t helping.

So many bad habits that have been avoided for years have all crept in…….

Never-ending inbox.

Afternoon coffee/caffeine.

Phone, first thing in the morning

Computer, last thing before bed.

No exercise.

Late night snacks

Excessive task switching.

…………. shitty sleep.

The Antidote: time and space.

Wake up early. Read. Take notes. Journal.

Run (think).

Write (…this).

Drive(think and reflect).

Support a friend in need.

The right things to do seem so obvious.

  1. So interesting for me to see someone so competent, multi-talented, that handles SO much volume with so much ease, whether in business, family, community, or recreation – see life as ‘a lot’ sometimes too. And to be so reflective. and then to say, ‘help a friend’ as one of your to do’s.

You are one of a kind Rob.
